elixer coffee has delighted our customers and community with a unique concept and presentation of the coffee, pastry café. All of our products are made fresh with the finest quality ingredients provided by local alliances, and small business suppliers.

 *All orders require at least 24 hour advance notice and delivery is available,    with fees varying for mileage plus time.

elixer coffee uses Intelligentsia Coffee and Tea as our roaster. We embrace their commitment to the global community and share in the responsibility to emphasize and showcase great coffees. We purchase largely Direct TradeTM coffees, highlighting the newest in season coffees to offer our customers. Since availability changes during the year and its season, we will always provide a list of coffees we have in inventory. Rest assured, we always include the roast date and will grind it to your exact specifications.

Sustainability-Model for Success
On sustainability and being Green; our existence as a café had at its inception certain understandings, fundamentals, rules, absolutes. The first was always offer the best, if something better becomes available; evolve in the name of quality. The second is; if something is not working for everyone, refer to the first absolute.

Sustainability at elixer coffee means:

•We use bio-compatible paper cups and to-go products, regular clients are always   encouraged to bring their personal cups and mugs through preferred pricing.

•We use only bio-compatible maintenance products (hand soaps, cleansers and   detergents).

•elixer’s spent coffee grounds go to a community garden.

•When choosing ingredients, quality is the only consideration. Quality too has   different meanings to different perspectives. elixer seeks Direct Trade™, Fair   Trade™, and Organic   certifications in all of its product selections. It is our   experience that these certifications find their origins in higher quality standards.

These are examples of sustainability that are just the right way of doing commerce and are also ecologically correct.

Sustainability has another face. Over 25 million families around the world produce coffee as a sole source of income. Corruption in the coffee trade is part of the business. We use Intelligentsia coffees exclusively www.intelligentsiacoffee.com. After much research we find that these coffees come with the assurance that the producers are being paid better than fair trade market prices, because often the market price is not fair. This comes at a substantial cost to us as suppliers and you as conscientious consumers. This is the human face of sustainability.

We have further goals under the banner of sustainability. As a business in this community it is our goal to do our part in the sustainability of our community, this also comes in many forms. One would be the education of the community on what global impact they can have by choosing products that sustain a broader base than just that of  “the Shareholders ”. On a more personal level we wish to employ members of our own community with a goal of paying a living wage in direct opposition of a working wage.
